One of the big challenges for online government is to automate the election process. Australia has pretty much the same voting process that was used for our very first election at Federation. The count is slow and the opportunities for electoral fraud are many. Our system doesn't even require a voter to provide any form of identification. So there is considerable potential for using computers and the Internet to improve the accuracy and authenticity of our our elections.
