<description>Just read this, and I totally agree.

I was actually employed by Swatch group Australia for over a year, and I can assure you they treat employees the same as they treat staff.

I had received minimal training, cut hours with zero explanation, unlawful payment for overtime hours worked, and they talked to us like we were scum. we were even implied of stealing constantly. we had bag checks before we left work, and the real kicker was someone from management did miscalculations on stock, and we were blamed for stealing. even after that there was no apology, and the tone from management was always as bad.

If this means anything, The repairs service position has a really tough job. Glen Iris only Employs ONE person to the repairs for all the watches that come through to the head office. If you consider the many brands that is the swatch group, its a lot of work for one employee. I have worked at swatch for over a year and if i recall correctly that about 4-5 people have come and gone thought that position. Its underpaid, heavy responsibility and they are constantly blamed for anything that goes wrong, (including a long service wait, returns without repairs, reoccuring problems after repairs.) Swatch should hire more people and provide thorough training for their employees, instead of barking down their necks and panic whenever a customer is upset with their service.

I could go on all day about the way Swatch group treats Customers and employees, but its a vicious cycle, bad behaviour that passes from the ceo&#039;s down to their sales staff.

If I may ask Russell, Was this Grant Hill you are speaking about? If so, I can let you know, Swatch is failing under his management. There are many including myself that have left Swatch due to his attitude towards staff and all the good work we have put towards the company..

It such a shame, I was once a avid Swatch fan, and am a massive watch fanatic, but after working with one of my favourite brands of all time, I am left utterly dissappointed and angry, at the way the Company treat loyal customers and employees.

		<description>Great piece Russell,

Some businesses are living in the dark ages. Brand reputations only last &amp; can be traded on for so long.
